WORLD WAR I: Axis group of mostly German PPCs many with military or patriotic subjects including artist cards & a variety of regimental cachets, also an Austrian Forces Postal Card of the Four Leaders with superb 'K k Landst Etappenkompagnie 3/405' cachet, Ottoman two leave passes with revenues affixed, 1916 real photo PPC of Captain Helmuth von Mucke (inset) & his crew being feted in Turkey, Red Cross & POW mail, 1918 German 10pf Postal Card with Constantinople arrival cds & censor cachet, etc, condition variable but many are fine to very fine. [von Mucke was Executive Officer of the 'Emden' which was sunk by HMAS 'Sydney' at Cocos. To avoid capture, he & his landing party stole the Clunies-Ross schooner 'Ayesha' & made an heroic escape, one of Germany's propaganda highlights of the war] (Qty 35 items) (Image1)
