Extensive collection crammed into a 32pp stockbook, mostly mint with numerous better items & long sets from Algeria, Cameroun, Dahomey, Djibouti, French Guinea, French Somaliland, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Senegal et Niger, Ubangui-Chari, etc, generally fine to very fine, Cat £4500+. The often chaotic layout makes scanning almost impossibnle. It also means we have probably overlooked some better material, and these factors make inspection a must.  (few 1000) (Image1)

NEW HEBRIDES: 1918 (Nov 29) envelope from German Prisoner of War / Internee to Saxony with 'PASSED CENSOR/.... Resident Commissioner' boxed handstamp in violet on face & reverse signed & dated "29/XI/18", stamp affixed cancelled 'VILA/DE 12/18/NEW HEBRIDES' cds in purple with another very fine strike alongside, the stamp later removed and the space endorsed "Timbre enleve a l'armee service civil" [stamp removed by the army civil censor], carried via Australia with Sydney 'PASSED BY/CENSOR S.D.' boxed cachet in violet on the face, re-addressed from Germany to "c/- Int Committee of the Red Cross. Geneva, Switzerland", a few minor edge faults. Most unusual: it is suggested that the item originated on an outer island and was carried to Vila by canoe, thus accounting for the almost two weeks between the Resident Commissioner marking and the Vila datestamp.
