NEW CALEDONIA: 1917 (March 29) usage of Australian multi-coloured patriotic 'Allied Flags & Southern Cross' envelope, to Paris with an unusual 'Chained Anchor' metal seal on reverse and Kagu Bird 15c lilac solo tied by 'BOURAIL/NLE CALEDONIE' cds with another largely very fine strike alongside, 'NOUMEA' transit backstamp, a couple of minor blemishes. Very attractive.
