France used in Beirut stamps and covers, an interesting display comprising 1853-73 issues with over 75 stamps, including "petits chiffres" lozenge with rare 1860 1c, 1853-54 20c+80c on piece, "gros chiffres" lozenge with few singles and few multiples including the Bordeaux issue and very scarce 1869 5f, four covers of which one sent two Switzerland, featuring 1867-68 40c pair, 1872-73 30c pair, this being additionally represented in single on cover front, two covers with 1872-73 80c single, all with "Paquebots/De La/Méditerranée" cachets, a scarce assembly, generally fine-very fine and fresh.
