Ivory Coast. 1948 rerouted incoming Ivory Coast printed matter taxed mail: 5 OCT 48 surface mailed cover from DABOU (IVORY COAST) to ELIZABETH New Jersey and franked 15c; backstamped DEC 1 1948 US arrival but re-routed to ISRAEL, with appended "Poste Restante" address (to be held at Post Office until addressee calls for it) in RAMAT GAN on front, but upon arrival over a year later, re-routed to RISHON LE ZION and taxed 30pr, the SU-2 period letter rate and not the printed-matter rate probably because cover not left unsealed as per printed-matter regulations, and paid using 10pr & 20pr BaPD3/4 franks tied by single strike of 18-12-1949 Rishon Le Zion postmark; opened gently at back; unusual origin, route & circumstance, very fine.
