1898-1953 'CAMEL POSTMAN' TYPES, MAINLY MINT COLLECTION PLUS COVERS: Includes 1898 set to 10p mint SG 10/17 (£150) with addl. 10p value showing the 'white cloud' variety (lack of shading between camel's neck and body); 1921-23 small format set of 7 to 15m plus later 2p, 5p & 10p chalk paper types plus mint & used examples punctured "A.S." or "S.G."; 1927-41 set mint to 20p SG 37/46b and later examples of the 1948 Leg. Assemb. & 1953 Self-Govt. issues incl. use on cover. EARLY POSTAGE DUE COVERS: 22 June 1909 env. from Cairo to Khartoum with boxed "T", franked with 20m postage due pair tied by a readable "KHARTOUM" c.d.s. Minor faults but a scarce cover. (ex Hass). Also, a native cover, Wadi Halfa to Egypt. Three sides open for display. 1m brown & pink (SG 10) tied to reverse with Wadi Halfa bridge and comb type cancel, 13 Mar. 1899, with boxed 'T' postage due mark assessed at 1 piastre showing Egyptian postage due tied to front with Helouan cancel, 16 Mar. 1899. FOURTH GRAF ZEPPELIN FLIGHT - SUDAN TO BRAZIL - very fine & extremely scarce cover flown on the Graf Zeppelin's fourth South American flight. Flown from Wadi Halfa to Friedrichshafen via Berlin then carried on to Santos via Sao Paulo. Red flight cachet and Berlin connecting flight cachet. Backstamped Santos, Brazil, very fine. Only very few covers known to have been posted from Sudan and the fourth flight is one of the rarer and more desirable examples of 'Contracting State' mail where mail was carried on the flight from countries in which the Zeppelin did not stop. O.S.G.S. DOUBLE OVERPRINT & LARGE "S.G." OFFICIALS: A lightly mounted mint example of 1898 1m pink and brown, with fully inked impressions of "O.S.G.S." misplaced upwards, level with the postman's head, the first misplaced horizontally to show "G.S." at left but with "O.S." omitted as the stamp was from the right hand of the pane. A few blunt perfs along top edge, but nevertheless, a real rarity. Hass Cert (2006). Also, 3 used examples of SG O2 with the punctured large "S.G." being normal, reversed & inverted with 2009 A.P.S. 'ARMY SERVICE - SPECIMEN' - set of 7 overprints, each with an APS certificate. Four values are from the 1910 set with the longer 'y' in army (SG A6, A7, A8, A9). Three values are from the earlier 1898 issue with the quatrefoil watermark, (SG A14-A16). All complete with APS certificate (March 2009). Scarce, superb examples.
