1870/1921: Specialised collection of 100s of stamps and covers, extensively researched and written-up in an album, including Napoleon and Bordeaux plate varieties, examples of the postmarks of the Franco-German war on covers inc. 40c Bordeaux single franking to Madrid, Napoleon 40c x2 tied by dumb small points grid to London, etc. Then a study of the Sowers on advertising frames with over a dozen different inc. ‘Mignon’ on postcard and anti-alcohol on cover, also 3c justice tied on multicolour flags of the Allies label, etc, followed by telegraphs inc. imperf 2fr violet shades used, 1868 perf issues complete, etc, several different telephone stamps, as well as sinking funds, Mersons to 20fr, etc. A very useful collection.
