Guadeloupe 1852 (Oct 29): Envelope from Point-a-Pitre to Six Fours, Var, France, franked by Cêrès 1 fr. carmine, a fine four margined example used with vert. pair 25 c. blue, all tied on arrival by grille sans fin obliterator in black with framed PD in red alongside. Despatch cds on front, reverse with arrival cds. Backflap is missing but a fine presentation of the 150 c. rate to France with a British vessel, a usage which was only possible from Guadeloupe between November 1851 and August 1853.
