Cover to Walthamstow franked by both Great Britain 1856 4d. carmine rose and France 1853 40c. orange, both creased and each tied by ´pointilles´ lozenge of small dots on despatch in Paris. Whilst the rate would have been correct, the Postmaster struck the cover with a framed ´Affranchisement-Insuffissant´ handstamp and, on arrival, the pre-payment was ignored and cover taxed ´8d.´ due. for a double letter.
