POSTAL HISTORY: 1847 much-redirected cover with numerous postal markings including postmen's handstamps boxed 'B.8' and circular 'B/5' & '5/B', 'Dsn 4le des Postes/[....] Reassignere' 2-line b/s & 'Rebuts' on the face both in red, resealed with large-part wax seal with impressed '[DI]RECTION [....] DES POSTES/DEPOT/DES/REBUTS' DLO seal, minor blemishes but full of character; also 1855 entire to "Port Louis/Maurice" (Mauritius) from 'NANTES' with cds & boxed 'PD' h/s both in red; and 1869 outer to Genoa with 'MARSEILLES A LYON 2o/ F ' TPO cds & boxed 'GENOUA' arrival b/s in red.
