China, Anhwei, 1949 (May), Tunxi (Tunki) Domestic Postage Paid labels, a lovely and very scarce selection of 4 items, 3 of which are unused, plus 1 used in May of 1949; comprising Ordinary Domestic labels (2, 1 used), plus mint examples of "Registered" and "Express" labels, all printed in black on the reverse of old Post Office forms (Jones L6-8); all values with serial number, with the used example on piece showing only a trace, fresh and Very Fine, a rare and choice set which, according to Jones and others, represents the only known Communist labels.

China, Anhwei, 1949 (May 18), Tunxi (Tunki) Domestic Postage Paid chop, on cover to Wan'an, a superior quality example of this rare chop, designating "Ordinary" mail usage, well-struck and tied by Tunxi origin c.d.s., with front also showing a 21 May Wan'an receiving c.d.s., Very Fine and choice, rare.

This example parallels the Tunxi labels which were withdrawn from use just 2 days after this usage and represents, according to the late William E. Jones and others, the only known such labels or chops used by the Communists
