China, 1878-83, Large Dragons, substantial selection of 52 defective examples, sizeable group, nearly all used, comprising the 1ca values (13), 3ca (23) and 5ca (16) with all three printings represented; faults range from minor to major with perforation clips and tears, missing corners, creases, small holes, etc.; that being said, still an effective study group, examine.

China, 1894-97, Empress Dowager 60th Birthday, outstanding accumulation, a wonderful and substantial holding of mint or used singles or multiples, better values, cancellations, spacing varieties, etc., assembled on a group of stockpages; we note better items such as ½¢ on 3ca small figure surcharge (Scott 28, Chan 37; two full double-panes of 40 plus two part, interpanneau panes of 36 and 38, each of these with smallish flaws or toning), plus many mint premium singles like Scott #49 (interpanneau block of 8), 42 (2), 47 strip of 4, 52, 56, 68 (2), 69 (2), 73 pair; 4 mm spacing like #28f, 29b, 30d, 30f, 32b, 35c (signed FZ Chun); quantities of mint or used 1894 Dowagers, #53 with extremely fine Chungking oval, premium used items on piece, and much, much more, the majority Fine to Very Fine, a splendid and valuable lot; inspection invited.

Amoy and Hankow, Powerful old-time collection, lovely and clean, neatly assembled and well-annotated, beginning with a nice section of parallel mint and used Amoy with good provisional surcharges, Scott #11-13 mint and used, 18-20 mint and used, 21a, good Postage Dues highlighted by #J12 mint, etc.; Hankow is next up, and is outstanding, beginning with a superb mint set of #1-3, 4-8 in singles and pairs, along with good used Second Issues with multiples, etc.; we also note duplicated #9-10, 11-15 mint and used, 17-18 used, 19-23, 25b (2), 25c (2), strong used Dues, etc. Fresh, Fine to Very Fine or better, a lovely lot; examine.

Coiling Dragon issue, tied by Heng Chow c.d.s., with front showing bilingual Changsha transit, Shanghai bilingual 1 MAR 10 transit, Shanghai 1.3.10 I.J.P.O. marking, etc.; card was short-paid for international transit, with large "T" and "Collect postage/02 cents" black handstamp markings and 2¢ U.S. Postage Due stamp added and tied by "New York/MAR 23" c.d.s. and matching duplex, fresh and Very Fine, a lovely, well-marked card.
