1939 to Germany endorsed "via New York" with KGVI 5c tied 'PRESCOTT/AUG26/1939/ONT.' machine cancel (six days before outbreak of WWII), black 'EXAMINED BY CENSOR ("29")' cachet and blue 'MAIL SERVICE SUSPENDED' cachets applied on face, presumably returned to sender, couple of very minor blemishes. [This strongly suggests censorship was being conducted prior to the official outbreak of WWII, as mail would not ordinarily take almost a week to leave Canada on its way to the New York steamer for Germany; apparently the item was held back because of its contents until service was indeed suspended]
