Group of Twenty Seven 5c Beaver Stamps with 4-Ring Numerals, with a mix of identifiable and non-identifiable (by us). Numbers we could easily identify include #s 4 (late state), 11, 18, 26, 29, 30, 39, 42, 47, 51, plus a blue strike which could be a 19 or a 49. Also includes two #37 in grid (not ring numerals). Collection of 4-Ring Numerals on Eight 5c Beaver Covers, with #18 (MAY.11.1863 on cover to Montreal with next day receiver), #19 (SEP.2.1859 on cover to Wardsville, with next day Newcastle and Wardsville datestamps on back, creases and tears), #21 (DEC.24.1859 on folded letter to Hamilton, with DEC.26 receiver on back), #27 (AUG.26.1864 on cover to Packenham with same day receiver), #28 (RF4, DEC.12.1861 on cover to Onondaga with next day receiver on back), #34 (MAR.25.1862 on very fine cover to Cobourg with next day receiver and contents), #37 (FEB.14.1861 on a folded letter, file fold through stamp), #40 (RF5, FEB.14.1862 on mourning cover with G.W.R. transit on back). A useful group for the postmark, or stamp collector, obvious faults described, smaller faults may be present. All are scanned online. (Image)
