Collection of 2 and 4 Ring Numerals on Small Queens, with 84 stamps in all (1c to 6c values) and with an assortment of different numbers. We note than some are not ring numerals, but do note better numbers and strikes such as 4R20 on 1c, 2R57 on 3c (light but readable), 2R36 on 3c, etc. Descriptions in the scans are from the owner and not necessarily correct, and some need the careful eye of a specialist, and there may be good finds. 2-Ring 16 Brockville on 3c Large Queen Cover, mailed Brockville on JUL.26.1869 and addressed to Farmersville C.W, with next day receiver on back. The cover is franked with a 3c Large Queen, tied by a light but readable 2-ring #16 (Unitrade RF 8, very rare). The cover is obviously very dirty and roughly opened at right (could be nicely trimmed) but has three enclosed letters, all datelined Brockville (in 1868) and addressed to the same recipient of the cover, Mr. Hayes. This obliterator is missing from many 2-ring collections. (Image)

The cover is franked with a 3c Small Queen (torn), nicely tied by an almost ideal strike of the 2-ring 34 from Chatham (RF 8, very rare in Unitrade). Small stain at top, still a very fine and desirable cover. (Image)

Group of Four 4-Ring Numeral Covers, 1861-1862, all four are franked with 5c Beavers and have their original letters inside, mailed to Henry J. Morgan in Québec City with biographical information intended to be used in his Who's Who publication. Two were mailed by the Honourable Colonel Roderick Matheson from Perth (4-Ring #29) in 1862. The third was sent by Frederick William Haultain (the first Premier of the Northwest Territories) from Perth (4-Ring #30) in 1861. The last one was mailed Brockville (4-Ring #51 partial) in 1861. Cover and stamp faults, still interesting contents from famous Canadians. The 4-Ring cancels range from poor to fine. (Image)
