AMBULANT OUEST No 1, 6 Dec 1855 double circle transit in black on back. LONDON BC 8 DE 8 1855 single ring receiver in red on back, ms rated 1/8 per half ounce due on front (March 1855 rate reduction between Canada and France via England to 1/8 cy not stg- AS and GS Rates Book, pg 205). Forwarded to LIVERPOOL L DE 8 C lozenge on front, then via closed bag to Toronto, where re-rated 2/1d (cy). Was the 1/8 rate already applied presumed to be stg? No receiver.
