1820 Folded Trans-Atlantic letter to London with very fine strike of 12 JAN MONTREAL straight line dispatch (CS type XIV without year date, showing part of circular rim) on reverse, rated PAID ‘6’ (4½d inland plus 1½d border fee) and ‘18½’(¢) to NY, manuscript routing direction ‘care of (British Packet agent) T. W. Moore’, who rated the letter 2/2 (stg) collect, carried on the ‘Princess Elizabeth’ to Falmouth and received 12 MR, fine. (Image)
