FUR TRADE LETTER written 30 Oct by James McDougal at ‘Le Assumption, Lower Canada’, addressed to John Stewart, London, received 12 DE, carried by Hudson’s Bay Express and entered the mails at Montreal 19 NO, rated manuscript ‘6’(d) and sent via Boston, rated PAID and manuscript ‘18_’(¢), with Portsmouth Ship Letter step-type boxed arrival on front, letter mentions many H.B. Co. Chief Traders, Factors or VIPs including Sir George Simpson, George McDougall, Thomas McMurray, Angus Bethune, Wm. Connolly, Wm. McIntosh, etc, a couple of small faults, quite RARE and fine.
