1832 Folded letter from Riviere Du Loup 19 Sep’r (ms date) to South Berwick, Maine, sent through Montreal and St Johns, LC and travelled via the Lake Champlain & Hudson River Steamboat - as indicated by the large MANUSCRIPT ‘B’, then via New York to destination, a most unusual routing, confirmed by the ms ratings ‘Paid 10’ (d cy Cdn =9d postage and 1d border transfer fee) and ‘25’ (¢ US for distance over 400 miles), filing fold, a very fine, choice and early Steamer letter.
