1860 Registered Cover, mailed Yarmouth on MAR.7.1860 (backstamp) to St John New Brunswick (receiver on front) through Digby (MAR.9 transit on back). Franked with a NS #2 and #5, paying the registration rate, both cancelled by an oval grid. The stamps both have four margins, both show part of adjoining stamp, and the 6d is cut into on one side. A scarce small cover, used at the end of the Pence period, and still enclosing a letter partly noting that there is £10 enclosed. Backflap tears, still very fine. Accompanied by a 2017 Greene Foundation certificate. (Image)
