Franked with a 3 margin #1, neatly tied by a fine strike of #26 in grid. Cover has file folds (not affecting stamp), overall fine. The cover is franked with a 10c and two 2c Queen Victoria issues, each with fresh colour and tied by small oval grids. The back of the cover has four datestamps: W.O.Douglastown NB (JUN.20.1864), Chatham NB (JUN.20.1864), Saint John NB JUN.21) and St Johns Newfoundland receiver (JUN.21). 1866 St John Way Letter to Philadelphia, mailed St John on JUN.28.1866 (backstamp) to Philadelphia, with "WAY LETTER" in small circle. Upon arrival it received a "NOT FOUND" straightline handstamp plus an "ADV / JUL 6 / 1866" in small square. The cover is franked with a 10c vermilion Queen Victoria. Group of Four NB Cents Issue Covers, 1860 to 1868, three are franked with a single 5c (to Rivière du Loup QC, Yarmouth NS and Wolfville NS) and one is franked with a single 10c (to Boston, Mass., very fine). The 5c cover mailed to Rivière du Loup has its stamp tied by a very fine strike of the #9 in oval grid (Grand Falls, RF 4).
