Nov. 1916 Killed in Action Cover Returned to Sender, with It's Ambulance Cover, mailed NOV.2.1916 at Saskatoon to a Lieut. D.A. Achesen in France, with manuscript "Killed in Action" on front. Has a "Field Post Office 14.VI / NOV.29.1916" c.d.s. on back (RF E in Bailey and Toop, only used 2 months) alongside a "Dead Letter Branch Ottawa Canada / JAN.22.1917" double ring c.d.s.. This cover (with contents still inside) was opened and returned to the sender in an OHMS ambulance cover free franked with an Ottawa machine "FREE" cancel. Very fine and interesting. (Image)
