Group of 20 Stampless Covers, or folded letters, with some better, noting postmarks such as Dewittville L.C (double circle 1858), Rawdon L.C (double circle 1844), New Glasgow L.C. (double circle 1843), Montreal PAID, Québec Fleuron type dated 1817, "1/2" rate handstamp from Bytown (front only), an unusual Three Rivers small circle in red (US made), etc. Many from Lower Canada, a few from UC, condition varies, all are scanned online. 1843 Ogdensburg NY Ferry to Prescott UC Stampless Folded Letter, mailed Ogdensburg on DEC.20 to Prescott (DEC.20.1843 double broken circle receiver in red). There is a "Ferry 2" notation for the 2d cross-river ferriage fee. The Prescott postmaster was a US agent lawyer. Very fine. (Image)

Group of 5 Stampless Trans-Atlantic Stampless Folded Letters, all carried by Cunard steamers, with 1843 GB to Québec (Caledonia trip 23), 1855 Montreal to Glasgow (America trip 53), 1856 London England to Montreal (Canada trip 57), 1849 Leeds England to London UC (Hibernia trip 32) and 1857 Glasgow to Montreal (Niagara trip 56). Two c1840s Red River Settlement Favour Covers, addressed to Rev'd John Smithurst, missionary at the Red River Settlement. One cover is addressed to the same person, but in "North America" and has a notation "Fav'd by Rev. A. Cowley" with some other docketing. Both are unfranked and have nothing on back, a few faults, still scarce and fine. (Image)
