Group of Four Different Patriotic Private Post Cards, all mailed, with 1898 1c QV Leaf London to Grimsby (The Flag that Braved), 1898 1c QV Leaf Grimsby to Grimsby (Rule Britannia), 1898 1c QV Numeral Toronto to Hamilton (Anglo-Saxon League) and 1906 Ottawa to Woodstock, Vermont (What We Have We'll Hold). Couple of small wrinkles, still a very fine and colourful group. (Image)

1863 Cover from Papineauville to Louis-Joseph Papineau in Montreal, mailed Papineauville (JAN.27.1863 broken circle dispatch) and addressed to "L'Honorable Louis-Joseph Papineau" in Montreal (JAN.29 receiver on back) through Grenville (JAN.27 transit on back) and franked with a 5c perforated Beaver. There is a note on front saying that this is from "Curé Bourassa" who was Augustin Médard Bourassa, Montebello's (where Papineau lived for a long time) seventh "curé", from 1858 to 1887. Sealed opening tear on back, else very fine. (Image)

1877 Victoria BC to Ottawa with Interesting Contents, being a #10 sized envelope mailed Victoria (broken circle dispatch on front) on SEP.17.1877 to Henry Morgan in Ottawa (SEP.30 receiver on back), franked with a 3c and three 1c Small Queens (all tied by three fancy corks) paying the double weight rate. The cover contains five letter sheets with "Secretary of State for the Provinces" logos in blue (and lovely "A. Pirie & Sons, 1871" watermarks), each having a handwritten list of names and dates of various appointees in British Columbia, being Sheriffs, Coroners, Notary Publics, etc. from 1871 to 1877. General aging to cover, still historically important. (Image)

1888 3c SQ Illustrated Advertising Re-Directed Cover, mailed from Hamilton (NOV.28.1888 duplex) to Springfield, Ontario. Received there on NOV.30 (backstamp) and re-directed to Detroit, Michigan, received there on DEC.3, stamped UNCLAIMED (twice), plus RETURNED / TO WRITER and received back in Hamilton on JAN.3.1889 (backstamp plus carrier marking on front for the final delivery). The illustration depicts a lovely street scene showing several people and horse-drawn carriages around the Merchant's Protective & Collecting Association building. Opened on two sides, still very fine and ex. Brigham (with his handstamp on back). (Image)

1898 8c Leaf Registered Cover to New York, mailed Ottawa on JAN.20.1898 (boxed registration handstamps) and addressed to New York City. The cover is franked with an 8c orange Queen Victoria Leaf (very fine copy), tied by an Ottawa RD roller. Corner card for "A Trip to Coontown" the first full-length New York musical comedy written, directed and performed exclusively by blacks. An important historical piece and very fine. (Image)
