Group of Modern Pre-Production Essays and Proofs, from the personal files of retired Canada Post designer Bernard J. Reilander, who designed or oversaw the design and production of these items. The lot starts with a block of four of the 1986 34c Science and Technology stamps with denomination obliterators, printed on gummed stamp paper (along with an issued block for comparison) and two imperforate, but tagged, souvenir sheets of the 1987 34c Exploration of Canada issue also printed on gummed stamp paper; one is identified as AP-1642-2 on the back and the other is AP-642-3 with the latter having denomination obliterators. Another interesting item is a file copy of the 1992 "signed" souvenir sheet for Canada '92 - the back showing handwritten file #CP4864. Also included is a colour gel of the Stockholmia 86 International Exhibition Card, used for proofing by Canada Post staff just prior to printing (plus several printed versions on various papers) and a set of 1976 Christmas promotional items. A great lot for the specialist. Our online photos show most items. (Image)

Extensive Used Collection in a Lighthouse Hingeless Album, 1851 to 1976, starts off strong with a #1, 3, 4, 5 (small tear), 7-9, 11 (crease), 12, 14/20 (no 16), and essentially complete to 1976, including all coil singles, and extra shades of the Large and Small Queens including a dated 3c LQ on laid paper, as well as tagged stamps. Back of the book is equally comprehensive, with complete airs, special delivery, dues, war tax (with types, shades), registration as well as G and O.H.M.S. overprints. Some of the early imperforates may not have four margins, a few stamps are marked as having creases, and there are some obviously faulty stamps here and there (mostly thinned) which have not been counted (inscribed N/C in album). Some of the other stamps could use a good bath to wash off the heavy hinges, otherwise overall fine or better, with many pages scanned online.
