1937 S.S. Distributor Post Office First Day and First Flight Covers, both cancelled with a JUL.21.1937 c.d.s. This was the first day of use of this postmark, which was only used until AUG.14 of that year. Both covers are also signed by the pilot, A. McMullen and R.W. Hale, the Postal Superintendent. One is additionally signed by three postmasters and has a "Hudson Bay Company / JUL.21.1937 / S.S. Distributor / Mackenzie River / Transport" oval handstamp in purple. Both are backstamped Aklavik AUG.1 and Edmonton AUG.7. Two scarce and very fine items. (Image)

Group of 140 First Flight Covers, 1930-1941, many with postmaster or district superintendent signatures. Note #3153 (x4, cat. $15 each), and four C3 first day covers (which cat. $25 each). Also a #192-194, C4 FDC which cats $45 plus, also a crash cover #300925 from the 1930 crash at Southesk Alberta, with no crash markings and too damaged to scan. Also other odds and ends including 5 O.H.M.S. covers and commercial airmail covers, 6 event covers and two O.H.M.S. perfin officials (#O245, used cat $60 each but wrinkles). Mostly very fine with a few creases, especially on the larger covers. Most are addressed to the same person in Calgary, and offered on the market for the first time. (Image)

Interesting Group of Air Mail Covers and Stamps, 1935-1937, starting with 10 covers mailed between APR.1.1937 and APR.19.1937, all lavishly franked with blocks, etc, addressed to places like Philippine Islands, Macao, Hong Kong, Hawaii, etc. through the "Trans-Pacific Route via San Francisco / Central Patricia P.o. / Pickle Lake, Ontario" all with many transit and receiver c.d.s. cancels, a few with first flight cachets "San Francisco to...". Also includes a collection of 300 covers mailed to Central Patricia P.O. / Pickle Lake / Pickle Crow / Sioux Lookout and many other places, between 1935 and 1937, some have first flight cachets, note different frankings (many with C5) and originating post office postmarks, a few FDC. etc. Last but not least is a collection of Haileybury to Rouyn 50th Anniversary of Air Mail labels with die, progressive and plate proofs in different colours, imperforates, double prints, plane upside down, plane facing left, two sheets of the finished stamp, etc. Also a Scott #CL11a (hinged tĂȘte-bĂȘche pair with PSAG cert). 1931 SCADTA Air Mail Cover to Columbia, this cover is franked with SCADTA #s C55 and C58 which were intended for internal use only, and are very rare on international incoming mail. Mailed from Vancouver on MAY.26.1931, arrived Barranquilla on JUN.3 and Girardot on same day (receiver on back). There is a Canal Zone stamp at left, uncancelled even though mail would have gone through via Canal Zone. A very fine and scarce cover. (Image)
