Tied by cork cancel on printed May 31st 1875 The Indian Orphanage and Juvenile Mission Scheme Accounts circular from Kingston to French River, reverse with Merigomish (9.23.1875) transit cds; stamp torn from opening, Very Fine appearance, ex-Hansen, Brigham (backstamp), with clear 1998 V.G. Greene certificate. SG No. 53.

A CHOICE USE SHOWING THE 1¢ INTRA-COUNTY DROP LETTER RATE.

A document comparing the Pre-Confederation Postal Rate mentioned the practice in the Province of Nova Scotia of extending the drop letter rate to Post Offices in the same count. This practice was evidently continued after the 1st April 1868.
