1919 RETURNED for WAR TAX, an Admiral #104 franked postcard short pays the 2¢ war tax rate from Montreal on DEC4,1919 to Danvelle-VT, as there was no return address on the card it was sent to the MONTREAL-BRANCH-DLO on DEC 5th where a note was sent to the addressee requesting 2¢ postage due comprising 1¢ war tax plus 1¢ fine, this was paid and another 1¢ stamp #104 was applied before the card re-entered the postal system on DEC 17th, a great card with two scarce MONTREAL-DLO h/s and an unreported bilingual “Returned for War Tax” h/s, VF est ($75+ US) (Image)
