1911 ILLEGAL USA POSTAGE, postcard with USA postage mailed from Kamloops-BC on SEP17,1911 and addressed to St-Clair-Minn, as there was no return address it was sent via CAL-VAN-RPO on SEP 18th to the VANCOUVER-BRANCH-DLO with blue oval receiver h/s on SEP 20th, redirected to the Canadian DLO nearest to St-Clair at Winnipeg with a WINNIPEG-BRANCH-DLO purple oval receiver h/s on SEP 25th, a note was sent to the addressee requesting 2¢ postage due comprising 1¢ postage plus 1¢ fine, this was paid and a 1¢ stamp #89 was applied to the card before re-posting noting the stamp tied by a WINNIPEG-BRANCH-DLO-CANADA cds dated OCT 3rd, a great card with 3 scarce DLO h/s from two different offices, VF est ($75+ US) (Image)

1907 POPLAR-HILL-ONT to JAPAN & CHINA, #89 pays the UPU printed matter rate on postcard dated DEC23,1907 and addressed to Kobe-Japan, the card had a 12 word message and should have been charged the full 2¢ UPU postcard rate but was missed by the Canadian postal clerks, routing via train to Vancouver but missed the EMPRESS of JAPAN DEC 24th sailing + forwarded to Seattle for PSSCo sailing to Yokohama on JAN 19th + overland to Kobe on JAN 20th + forwarded to Shanghai-China with no postage due for conversion from non forwardable printed matter to a first class forwardable rate, China was also not a UPU member but the card was still accepted with no additional fees, great item with VF est ($100+ US) (Image)
