1868 PETERBORO-CW DOUBLE RATE to USA, #27f (x2) on white horizontal wove paper pays the 12¢ USA double rate (2 x 6¢ per ½ ounce) tied on cover with Peterboro Berry duplex cancels dated OCT29,1868 and addressed to Albany-NY, rough opening UR neatly sealed, the stamps are from a very dry printing with only a trace of vertical shrinkage, the two VF stamps alone cat $650, F-VF est ($200+ US) (Image)
