An indistinct town cancel at lower left. 2019 Greene Foundation certificate accompanies, “Canada Scot #39a, bisected copy, perforated 11 1/2 x 12, used on cover within Prince Edward Island, 1870s printing, genuine, tiny cut in top right corner of stamp, right side of cover partly torn off”. The Island Register website suggests three possible recipient. An Alexander Robertson born April 2, 1828 in Marhsfield, PEI and died April 14, 1880 in Bonshaw, PEI was the likely addressee. His two sons, James Alexander and Alexander Flaconer were born in 1860 and 1864 respectively and would have been just teens. (Image)
