1948-49 Bundi ½a violet stapled part "booklet" of nine sheets of twenty (4 x5) with consecutive sheet numbers 8692-8700 and interleaving, Type 1 handstamps in violet. Affected by damp, and only fair condition (one sheet defective) with little gum remaining, nevertheless a remarkable item with occasional double or partly doubled handstamps. SG 2b, £1710 as normals

Pair inscribed AKALKAT unused, somewhat tired with traces of gum, the remainder AKALKOT: vertical unused pair perfin SPECIMEN Type W8, the perfins tête-bêche at base and top respectively; mint single and pair, one of the latter with no stop after value, and mint single with a much larger flag (Image)

Akalkot Court Fee. 1906 1a to 5r (no 6r), K&M 31-42, each perforated SPECIMEN Type W8 vertically at right. Includes 1r in pink and 1r2a in salmon, each unlisted in K&M, 12 values in all. Generally without gum. The 2r and 5r with surface abrasions and the 5r with a crease. Also a corner imperforate vertical pair of the 2a with very large margin at right, possibly of proof status (Image)

Akalkot. 1906 GENERAL STAMP Master Die Proof for the frame in blue, without value or flag. Large margins, mounted on card with a further thick card frame, initialled and dated 31/1/06 in pencil. Light creasing (Image)

Akalkot. Court Fee collection on leaves, loose and in packet with good ranges of the 1904 and 1906 (1906 complete unused) also with some gummed and 1942 to 3r, also Stamped Paper GENERAL STAMP 2r. A very useful lot with some of the gummed stuck together, but well worth careful inspection (Image)

Akalkot. (Undated) group on a page headed "Bradbury Wilkinson archive material", blue stamps with red flag similar to K&M Type 11 (inscribed AKALKAT). 1a unused, 12a block of eight (4 x 2) with margins at each side, gummed, adhesions and some creasing; 1r2a and 5r each partially stuck to page, should be removable with care. Also a gummed 1a in a strong shade of grey-blue and dark red (almost claret); an interesting group (Image)

Alipura/Bharatpur. Paragon album with a decent collection (few hundreds) with Alipura 25r Court Fee, Alirajpur 15r, useful Bajana, Bansda and quite extensive Bharatpur; with some Indore and Jaipur at the back

Alirajpur. 1931-50 group with 1947 Court Fee duplicated values from 4a to 25r (3), 1932 Revenue 1a used and a lovely proof cut to size on glazed card from the DLR proof book, marked in ink 'June 17th/ 80 + 2 leads', slight scoring at top, and the 1930 and 1948 stamps used (Image)

Alwar. 1910-45 Revenue proofs and specimens. 1910 1a vertical proof pair in red on unwatermarked paper, ungummed, showing dry print at base of lower stamp, and gummed marginal example with watermark Multiple Rosettes, close to violet in shade, perfin horsehoe SPECIMEN sideways. 1945 1a black-brown gummed corner block of six, with hole punches in lieu of Specimen, and two gummed perforated examples in bright blue with Waterlow Specimen overprints (see note above #341 in K&M) (Image)

Athmalik. 1885-1944 Court Fee stamps (12) with K&M 11, 38, 152 (on rose paper), a similar 2a composed by typewriter but larger, 153, 156, and 253 x 4, one dated 9.8.43, very mixed condition as to be expected with these (Image)

Aundh. 1940-5 Court Fee stamps (63) used, an interesting group with some of the listed variants, and some unlisted with (for instance) Maratha numerals including one with the numeral sharply printed but albino; the 20r in the listed brown, but another example in pink (Image)

Baghelkhand. 1942-7 1a Revenue (7, one on document, another with doubled perfs at one side). Court Fees set of three per K&M plus two 15a pale maroon (unlisted); 4a blue (unlisted) with Jaso handstamp (2), and group of four 1a scarlet, 2a, 12a blue and 1r with Kothi handstamps, the basic 1a and 12a unlisted. Balasinor. 1924-48 Court Fee and Revenue range (77) including better, some not listed by K&M including 1924 10a orange-brown (2), 1933 2a red and 5a chocolate, 1944 2a green and 1r deep blue. Also three fair/good mint booklet panes of four of the 1945 Revenue 1a brown, interesting lot (Image)

Bamra. 1890-1947 Court Fees and Revenues (scores) on cards and leaves, with a good deal of unlisted material; for example in the Court Fees, 1890 1r pale blue, and 1910-5 'R0--4' black, '4' red, 6 annas and 8 annas grey, '8 Ans' green, RE1 grey and 1Rupee pale blue, 1927 2Rs lilac and many later major variants. Also includes two large imperforate items (essays?) on laid paper, each inscribed "THE BAMRA FEU DATORY STATE STAMP PAPER" and denominated in ROPES (? = Rupees), "ONE" and "TO"; very elaborate and unusual but with creasing, tears and other faults. Most interesting and worth careful examination (Image)

Banganapally. 1939-45 Revenues and War Fund Seals. The Revenues include three designs as per the 1939-45 series but with labels incorporated in the design, in denominations 2a, 8a (torn) and 5r. The War Fund labels include the booklet of 3p black and green, originally 64 stamps but with one pane of eight and two pairs remaining. Unusual (Image)

Bansda. 1920-45 Revenues, 6 proofs and 13 adhesives. The 1920-40 1a design has proofs of the frame in blackish purple, and two of the portrait in slate-violet and black, plus the complete design in myrtle-green, slate-violet and green and vermilion and black, with the odd minor blemish. The 1935-45 1a green has six mint examples, mostly creased, and there are two used 1a red; then the 1940-5 1a red has five used examples, two with worm holes (K&M, 'Known only from the Indap Sample Book') (Image)
