1894-99 Elephant 3p (deep) orange-brown printer's sample, imperforate with 1½-2mm margins, diagonal WATERLOW & SONS LTD./ SPECIMEN overprint (Samuel Type WS1). Possibly a Die Proof. Very rare and desirable, not previously seen by us. For SG 22

Official. 1894-99 Elephant 3p to 2a "On S. S. S." overprints as SG Type 13, range on pages and stockcard, 29 stamps, including sets (2) with normal opts, set with inverted opts, 3p and 6p inverted opts in vertical strips of 5 and 4, a few comma, raised stop and inverted "S" varieties noted, mostly fine with gum (one with bogus barred cancel).
