1942(-47) 1a (light) green, IMPERFORATE pane of four on ungummed paper with wide margins all round, the spacing and cliché characteristics corresponding precisely to the known panes of SG 2. Position #1 with trivial creasing, otherwise very fine. Of proof status, a unique and highly important item, with only a lower pair (positions #3-4, with slight faults) previously seen by us. 1942-47 1a bluish green, perf 8½-9, affixed to piece (with part IND(AP ?) watermark) showing printed blue lines at top and right, tied by small seriffed CANCELLED handstamp in purple. Rare usage as a printer's sample, from an Indap publicity sheet. SG 6 (Image)

Jasdan. 1942-47 1a light green perf 12 (position #3 on the pane), and 1a green, perf 10½ (position #1 on the pane, deep shade close to SG 1), tied to separate pieces (the former from a sugar ration "card"), respectively by full and part strikes of large seriffed purple CANCELLED handstamp. Minor gum marks, and perf 12 with tiny corner crease, still a very scarce and most interesting pair. Probably semi-postal usage, since other sugar ration cards have the 1a postage stamp tied by circular postmark, in combination with 1a rose fiscal tied by the handstamp seen here. SG 2, 3 var.
