The John Minns East Africa: Zanzibar: 1904 Monogram Issue: Essays: 1r. multicoloured essay printed in five colours with handpainted border and perforations, stamp-sized and affixed to card (90 x 115mm) dated "Oct. 29th 03", endorsed "D" and "Dubl.", most appealing. "Zanzibar" but refused and apparently returned, bearing German East Africa 71/2h. cancelled Tanga Apr. 20 and Zanzibar 21/2a. tied by Apr. 20 c.d.s. and scarce boxed "FOREIGN POSTAGE DUE/ ANNAS PIES" (adhesive affixed over earlier strike), flap missing but most unusual.
