1876/79: 1 d. blue in a horizontal pair, used with single 2 d. green on 1881 cover from Addah to Milan, Italy with "ADDAH" datestamp of despatch and the adhesives tied by negative seal "POST OFFICE / ADDAH / GOLD COAST" in black and re-cancelled at Accra with "554" obliterator and "Accra" cds (May 22). '3' (pence) credit mark in red crayon and 'Paid / Liverpool / Br. Packet' transit cds in red (June 24) on obverse and London and Milano datestamps on reverse. 1876/84: 2 d. green, a sheet marginal example, diagonally bisected on 1884 cover from Elmina to Accra paying the inland rate, tied by somewhat blurred "ELMINA" code A circular datestamp (Dec 1) in red but with fine information strike at left, ACCRA arrival, code C, in black (Dec 5). The adhesive with perfs. trimmed at base and the envelope with two small closed tears at top, however this is the sole bisected usage from Elmina recorded by John Sacher and thus a rare and important usage.
