1855 (Oct 9): Cover from Melbourne to Valparaiso, Chile endorsed "pr. Norah Creina" franked by Victoria 1854/55 6 d. dull orange tied by bold oval '1/V' obliterator in black paying the ½ ounce Ship Letter rate. Reverse with 'Melbourne / Victoria' despatch datestamp in black (Oct 9) and front of cover with manuscript '25 cts.' local charge for landing and delivery. Just four stamped covers prior to the UPU are recorded to Chile, this being # 2 in the Palmer census. llustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 199.
