Crown CC, used examples on 1871 cover from Mangrove Bay to London endorsed "per Alice via New York", tied by "4" numeral obliterator with BERMUDA / M.B. / PAID cds of despatch at left (Dec 28) with 'London / Paid' arrival cds in red (Jan 17, 1872). Illustrated in the "Postal History & Stamps of Bermuda" by Morris Ludington on page 112: in the absence of the withdrawn contract Steamer 'San Francisco', the brigantine 'Alice' carried the Mails from Bermuda to New York on just two occasions.
