Mint stamp folio with 1920s to 1940s array including 1928 Rama VII 2s to 15s sheets of 100 plus 25s two half-sheets of 50, 50stg sheet of 100 in three blocks, 80stg & 1b sheets of 100 all with Waterlow Imprint, 1941 Rama VIII 2stg & 5stg blocks of 38 & 40, 3stg x75 in blocks of various sizes, 10stg sheet of 100, 15stg 25stg & 50stg part-sheets of 68 78 or 70 respectively, 1b x8, 2b x50, 3b x25, 5b x3 & 10b x2, all unmounted, then with no gum as issued 1943-48 Litho 1b corner pair, War Monument two sheets of 100 (numbered '2' & '3') and Bangkaen Monument 2s pane of 50 & sheet of 100 in different shades and 10s two sheets of 100, plus a few strays including 1942-43 Airs & Thai Occupation of Malaya SG TM1-6 set, condition variable with some significant tropicalisation but many are fine to very fine. From a family business source, never before on the market.
POSTAL HISTORY: 1907 'No Stamps' Provisional Markings at Bangkok 5: local cover endorsed "1 att stamp run/short Postage Paid" in red & signed "Manit", overstruck with superb bilingual Bangkok 5 cds of 14.12.07, Bangkok 1 arrival b/s of the next day, minor waterstain at upper-right. Ex Len Colgan: sold at the Prestige auction of 24.6.2011 for $862. Philatelic Association of Thailand Certificate (2011). [Few covers from Bangkok 5 have been recorded]
POSTAL HISTORY: 1940 Siam/Thai Electric Corporation covers from Bangkok to Australia, two by air endorsed 'AIRWAYS CORPORATION' with 'VIA AIR FRANCE' airmail ettiquette crossed out at 90st rate or 'KLM' at 70st rate, the other with 'PASSED FOR TRANSMISSION' censor cachet, minor blemishes.
