ROYAL PALACE PRIVATE 'LOCALS': 1890 (circa) Queen Saowabha F&O #L39, unused, very fine. Ex Len Colgan: sold at the Prestige auction of 24.6.2011 for $1725. Philatelic Association of Thailand Certificate (2011). [These undenominated stamps, each with a notional value of 1 att, were printed by a photographic process onto thick ungummed paper of generally poor quality. Most surviving examples have significant faults. Fine to very fine examples are extremely rare]

POSTAL HISTORY: 1907 'No Stamps' Provisional Markings at Bangkok 2 local cover with Siamese-language address, largely very fine strike of the straight-line 'One att stamps run short Postage paid' h/s & signed "Fack" in red, overstruck with superb bilingual Bangkok 2 cds of 16.12.07 (the latest recorded date for the provisionals). Ex Len Colgan: sold at the Prestige auction of 24.6.2011 for $862. Philatelic Association of Thailand Certificate (2011). [Addressed to Nai Kwi Yiew at Krungthep, possibly by Fack himself]
