1895 cover to Louisville, Ky, franked with single 50p purple, prepaying the single weight letter rate to the United States. Stamp is tied by the extremely rare "MOKPO/COREE 9 Aout 02" foreign mail cds, with additional strike below, with Chemulpo 13 Aout 02 transit, San Francisco Sep 12 and Louisville arrival pmks on back. Cover is slightly repaired to improve appearance, still fine and accompanied by a clear 1999 Florian Eichhorn certificate "the Latin style foreign mail marking MOKPO belongs to the top difficulty group of its kind, and on cover is among the rarities of Korean philately" (Cat No. 9) (Image)
