"P.M. 8“ mark alongside both on reverse, to Tokyo w. arrival double circle N1B1 7.1.17 (Jan. 17, 1874), also s. l. vermilion on front "delayed by snow“. Early provincial usage outside Tokyo, as Japans first postcards were distributed to places outside Tokyo/Yokohama only from March, 1874.
