Collection / Accumulation of Mint and Used Japan in Four Binders, 1910-2015, consisting of a few thousand, primarily used stamps with some mint souvenir sheets, in Vario-style and personal pages. The lot ranges from Scott #72/2725, and begins with a sparse selection of used stamps up to 1940, with strength of the material beginning in the 1940s, especially with souvenir sheets, including Scott #s: 283a (n.h., c.v. $90), 293a (perforation separation, n.h., c.v. $145), 385a (n.h., c.v. $225), 519a (n.h., c.v. $65), 521c (corner crease, n.h., c.v. $375), along with other sheets cataloging $20 and up. The lot includes selections of Airmails and Semi-Postals, and Prefecture issues, ranging from Z24/Z827i. We also note a small selection of mint and used Ryukyu Islands. Duplication of modern material is up to 10 in some cases. We note some of the mint stamps have gum toning issues, still overall fine to very fine. (Image)

Japan and Korea Mint and Used Collections, from Classics to the 1970s in four stockbooks. The Japan collection is strong on National Parks souvenir sheets and includes #s 193 (used c.v. $57), 200 (mint c.v. $62), 283a (mint c.v. $90), 288a (mint c.v. $65), 311a (mint c.v. $240), 318a (mint c.v. $125), 323a (mint c.v. $125), two examples of 453a (mint c.v. $50 each), 456 (mint c.v. $275), 457 (mint c.v. $75), 479 (used c.v. $55), 504a (mint c.v. $55) and 564a (mint c.v. $100). The Japan collection also includes numerous classics and Offices Abroad, which deserve closer inspection. The South Korea collection is also strong on souvenir sheets and includes #s 85 (mint c.v. $120) and 107 (mint c.v. $105). There is also a North Korea collection in it's own stockbook, which includes some of the early issues. We estimate there to be the following number of stamps for each country: Japan 600, South Korea 500 and North Korea 200. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)
