POSTAL HISTORY: 1939 Hemmi Seisaku-Sho Co Ltd unsealed airmail cover to Australia with 'COMMERCIAL SAMPLE' h/s, 4s 5s 20s x2 50s & 1y x4 with Tokyo cds & blue/black 'R' label, per Dai Nippon to Hong Kong then Imperial Airways feeder to Bangkok and then Empire Route service, Melbourne arrival b/s, a few blemishes and vertical fold not affecting stamps.
POSTAL HISTORY - WWII OCCUPATION OF BURMA: 1943 (circa) Helmet & Dove Postal Card sent by serviceman to Niigata, censor's chop in vermilion, return address translates as "c/- Sasebo Post Office i11 i32 Watanabe Unit Nakahara Party". [i11 was the designation for the Andaman Islands, which Japan occupied in late March 1942 after much of the British garrison was withdrawn following the fall of Burma]
POSTAL HISTORY: 1951 (Oct 30) commercial usage of Hong Kong-printed formular aerogramme to a member of the House of Commons in London with 50s 2y 5y & 20y tied by Japanese-language cds, London arrival b/s of 5NO/51, abrasion on the address panel. The message partly in French & partly in Englaish finishes "...France & Japan have a good eye on the British politics & so many hopes".
