Appealing pre-WWII collection in three stockbooks with a few Imperfs, 1861-98 issues essentially complete, 1908 Jubilee set, then mostly mint including 1910 Birthday set, lots of overprints, 1922 Composers, 1925 Scenes, 1925-30 Airs to 2s, 1929-30 Pictorials most values to 2s including 60g, Miklas, Rotary, 1933 & 1936 Skiing, Wipa Ordinary Paper, Wipa Granite Paper (tied to piece by boxed datestamp), Catholic Day, 1933 & 1935 Winterhilfe, Dolfuss (superb!), most of the Charity sets, etc, also plenty of Back-of-Book material, the early issues with good postmark content, many of the mint sets with hinge remainders otherwise generally fine to very fine. POSTAL HISTORY - GERMAN ANSCHLUSS: 1938 (Oct 15) commercial registered airmail cover endorsed "25gr", to the Australian Prime Minister "Josef [sic] Lyons" in Canberra with German Airs 20pf 2rm & 3rm tied by '1 WIEN 1' cds, Brindisi & Sydney transits & Canberra arrival b/s. [The flap bears the h/s of Jewish mathematician Arthur Andermann, who may have been seeking assistance from Lyons & his government. Andermann's name appears on the Jewish genealogy website 'Avotaynu' in a list of Holocaust victims]
