In January 2016, the base postage rate was raised from 70c to $1. A shortage of 30c values in Adelaide resulted in an emergency printing using an old counter-printing machine & remainder stock of 1994 self-adhesives. These were distributed only to some suburban post offices in Adelaide & were on issue for only a few days, pending arrival of regular 30c issues from Stores Branch. No publicity for or notification of the issue was given & no examples were provided to the Philatelic Bureau or otherwise for distribution to New Issue Service clients.
