AEROGRAMMES: Terrific basis for a new collection with scarcer issues including KGVI 7d on Yellow Paper with Ungummed Flaps for use in TPNG (superb unused), 1956 Olympics with 'MELBOURNF' Error (commercially used) & 10c with Large 'c' (VFU), several First Days of Issue, special flights including KGVI 7d with printed '.../RE-OPENING/AUSTRALIA-ENGLAND/EMPIRE AIR ROUTE/...' in purple signed by both pilots, excellent postal history content with upratings including three different 10d each re-rated 9c with 1c adhesive, 1948 from Phillips Ponds (SA) cancelled at 'WOOMERA WEST', 1952 to Austria with censor cachet within, unusual destinations including New Zealand, Singapore, Yugoslavia, Canada, Thailand & Nepal, commercial usages from the Solomons of three different Territories formular types, etc, a few problems but generally fine to superb.   (80+)

FOOD PARCEL LABELS: 1946 Myer 5/10d blue with 'A GIFT PARCEL FROM AUSTRALIA' at the Base ACSC PL4A with Edition Number '473' at Lower-Right and Address Lines Added, Melbourne parcel roller cancel, ironed-out crease at right with associated repaired damage at U/R & affixed to a piece of thin white paper, Cat $800++. We have recorded only one other example of this rare variant: see also Lot 2352. [The sender Max Oldaker, was a celebrated operatic singer & theatre performer who was born in Tasmania. The addressee, Harry Isaacs was a British classical pianist]

FOOD PARCEL LABELS: 1946 Anthony Hordern & Sons (Sydney) 5/10d blue with 'FOOD POST PARCEL/ FROM/ANTHONY HORDERN & SONS LTD/...' printed in red ACSC PL4C, a little soiled & a couple of ironed-out creases, partial strike of 'SYDNEY 2' parcel roller cancel & rubber datestamp '28NOV1946' applied by Hordern's, Cat $7500. Ex Neil Russell. One of the great rarities of Australian Postal Stationery. The example illustrated in the ACSC - Ex Keith Freebairn - sold at our auction of 9.2.2008 for $10,485. This is believed to be the only other complete label recorded.

LETTER CARDS: 1906 'Goodman's Patent' Reply Letter Card essay in violet/buff, missing a small corner piece of selvedge, the perforations sensibly reinforced with archival tape. Probably the finest of the few examples we have seen. An important "forerunner" for the 1911 1d+1d issue but with the reply-half inverted in relation to the message-half.
