Small group of military & censored mail including 1904 with 'HMS CHALLENGER' on the flap, 1940 Consulate of the Netherlands cover inwards from New Zealand with 'SAFE HAND (AIR)' cachet (the only Safe Hand Packet item we have seen from NZ), 1941 pair of covers from Australian serviceman "LJ Golding A/B" in China (?) with either 'PASSED BY CENSOR/[initialled]/ DATE: ("26.6.41")' h/s or 'VICTORIA/19MY/40/HONG KONG' cds on face, and 1945 BCOF with 'HMAS HOBART/2 SEPT/1945/TOKYO JAPAN' woodcut cds, also Great Britain 1943 stampless to a civilian internee in China & 1945 Forces Letter KGVI 1½d to POW in Japan plus KGV 2d x3 tied to 1920s piece by 'ASCENSION' cds, India 1934 airmail to "Hong Kong Mule Corps" and Spain 1938 airmail to Malloca with M/S 'heart' censored. OAS airmail cover endorsed from "LJ Golding A/B" with fine red boxed 'PASSED BY CENSOR/[initialled]/ DATE: ("26.6.41")' h/s on the face, to NSW with Sydney civil censor label & cachet at left, minor blemishes; plus 1940 cover to same addressee with italicised 'On Active Service' h/s in red and 'VICTORIA/19MY/40/HONG KONG' cds alongside with same 'PASSED ...' cachet on reverse, minor faults.

[The address "Altson's Corner" - usually wrongly given as 'Alston's Corner' - is an 8-storey Edwardian building on the corner of Elizabeth & Collins Streets, built for tobacconist Henry Altson in 1903-04]

1926 (July 20) large parcel piece (folded to 226x207mm) with complete Farmer's of Sydney address label & post office 'PARCEL POST SYDNEY NSW/Farmer's' numbered label, Third Wmk 6d brown pair (both damaged before being affixed) & 9d violet - all with elaborate 'F' perfins - tied by undated 'CHIEF/PARCELS OFFICE/SYDNEY' roller cancels. Ex Kevin Nelson. [The rate was 1/9d for an intrastate parcel weighing between 5 & 6lb. The Post Office supplied Parcel Post labels bearing the user's name to large volume users: very few have survived. Farmer's, a department store founded in 1840, also operated radio station 2FC]
