1d deep carmine-rose from the Harrison Printings with the Watermark Inverted and the prominent plate flaw Dot before '1' at Right ACSC 74Ba(3)m, characteristic centring, contemporary 'HELP REPATRIATION/BUY WAR SAVINGS CERTIFICATES' slogan cancellation, Cat $5000+. Michael Drury Certificate (2003). It is a measure of the rarity of this stamp that Arthur Gray did not have an example, even without a listed variety. The ACSC suggests that at least a full sheet of 120 came into the hands of collectors. It is also stated: "Used stamps are very rare", and all the moreso for having a major variety. On that basis, the relative catalogue values of $2500 for a mint stamp ($4500 for unmounted) and $5000 for used would indicate that the latter is significantly undervalued. In fact, with the variety, it is probably unique! The ACSC also cautions against mint stamps with non-contemporary postmarks. We can guarantee this stamp is correctly cancelled with a slogan that was in use at the time the stamp was issued.
