Large shoebox of covers mostly 1950s-1980s international flights in & out of Australia & intermediates including by Qantas, Pan-Am, Air India, KLM & Lufthansa, plus a few earlier notably KLM/KNILM 1931 flights, also internal material including a few helicopter flights, many illustrated & a few registered, condition variable but generally fine to very fine. 1947 (May 26) plain cover endorsed ".../Food for Britain Flight" with six signatures at left, ½d & 1d tied by 'MASCOT AERODROME/NSW-AUST' cds, faint vertical fold & minor blemishes. Unlisted in the AAMC, despite being self-addressed by Ernie Crome.

1957 (Aug 6) cover with autographs of "Miles King", "Phil Lightband" & "F Bethwaite" mis-dated "6.7.57", from New Zealand via Norfolk Island with Plunket Society 3d uncancelled, on arrival at Sydney QE 4d pair added & all stamps tied by slogan cancel of 8AUG/1957, returned to NZ by sea, minor blemishes on the reverse: AAMC 1376a (NZAMC 479), unpriced. The only recorded example. [The ACSC refers to "covers", plural, but the NZ catalogue states "one cover known" which is this item. Plus contemporary newspaper photos & clippings that make clear this was a one-way delivery flight, the crew returning per TEAL]

HOVERCRAFT FLIGHTS: 1962-77 small collection written-up as per old edition of Australian Air Mail Catalogue, 15 covers plus related ephemera from 12 different 'flights'. [We question the appropriateness of water-borne crafty being treated as aircraft, but each to his own. Blame British Airways. (Qty 15)
